Organizational Memberships 

As one of the leaders in the tree industry, WCA is very involved with many organizations. We are active members in the following organizations:

California Landscape Contractors Association: The California Landscape Contractors Association was organized for the purpose of protecting and advancing the best interests of licensed landscape and irrigation contractors and is supported in that concept by its members. The association recognizes its obligations to the public and its right to self-government. Each member has an obligation to serve the public and serve the association, thus enriching the overall landscape industry through dedication and service.

International Society of Arboriculture: The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) has served the tree care industry for over seventy years as a scientific and educational organization. ISA, aligned on many fronts with other green organizations, is working hard to foster a better understanding of trees and tree care through research and the education of professionals as well as global efforts to inform tree care consumers.

Street Tree Seminar: Street Tree Seminar consists of management and supervisory personnel of public tree agencies and persons whose professional interests or business is related to street tree management. Membership may also include educators, and individual consultants.

Maintenance Superintendents Association: The Maintenance Superintendents Association is supported by a membership comprised of Mid-Management Municipal, County, State and Special District employees who are responsible for, and dedicated to the cost effective maintenance of the Public infrastructure, and the commercial entrepreneurs who supply them with the equipment, materials and technical support to carry out this vital mission. The Association is also dedicated to the ongoing education of its members and the dissemination of available safety procedures.

Tree Care Industry Association: The T C I A is a trade association of commercial tree care firms, established in 1938. The association develops safety and education programs, standards of tree care practice, and management information for arboriculture firms around the world.

California Urban Forests Council: CUFC promotes urban forestry as part of an integrated ecosystem. It encourages alliances between organizations, businesses and civic leaders to develop modern forestry programs. It also links effective urban forest planning, planting, management, research education and policies in the state of California.

California Park & Recreation Society: CPRS was established to provide park, recreation, leisure and community service professionals and interested citizens with the knowledge and resources to enhance their leadership role in creating community through people, parks and programs.

Risk and Insurance Management Society: RIMS is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the practice of risk management, a professional discipline that protects physical, financial and human resources. It serves to promote and inform the risk management community of the latest legislative and regulatory developments on state, provincial and federal levels.

Waste Reduction Awards Program 2002 Award Winner: The California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) issues awards for creative and innovative waste-cutting success in the workplace. The award honors companies of all sizes for reducing the amount of waste produced and finding workable solutions to reuse and recycle materials, including buying recycled-content products for the workplace.
