Giving Back

WCA prides itself on its sense of corporate social responsibility. We are committed from our upper management to each field team to instilling socially responsive management throughout WCA’s comprehensive Urban Forest Management Plan. One of our top priorities has been ensuring the citizens of communities with consistent, quality urban tree care. In addition to providing quality tree care, we pride ourselves on contributing back to the community and various organizations. Our involvement with these groups has allowed us to become more familiar with community groups, school leaders, local businesses and residents. We continue to participate in various functions, including Arbor Day, Open House, and ceremonial tree dedications.

“On behalf of the Scouts who will benefit from it, thanks for sending your work crew to Lost Valley last week. They accomplished a lot of the site preparation, work that must be done for the new Beckman Dining Hall. Everyone associated with the camp looks forward to the new dining hall and we appreciate your assistance in the completion of that project. Thank you for continuing to be a friend of Lost Valley, it is greatly appreciated.”
- Steve Adams, Boy Scouts of America

“I would like to take this opportunity to present to WCA the Chino Basin Water Conservation District’s observations and experiences using the chippings you have provided for the CBWCD in the past six years. With the attention your organization has demonstrated in regards to spreading the mulch to our specifications and the results realized, the CBWCD could not be more pleased. We are extremely happy with all of the benefits chip mulching has provided and look forward to working with you and WCA for many years to come.”
- David Schroeder, Conservation Specialist, Chino Basin Water Conservation District

“As a member of the Board of Directors of the Independent Cities Association (ICA), I wanted to tell you how much I appreciated West Coast Arborists, Inc.’s support of our Thirty-Ninth Annual Seminar. Contributions like yours enable the Association to present events of exceptional quality for elected officials and management staff of member cities. Please accept my personal thanks for your support of an organization dedicated to the improvement of local government.”
- Mark Paulson, Director, City of Alhambra

“The 1998 City of Mission Viejo United Way Staff Campaign was a great success! We wanted to extend a special thank you for all your efforts in making this event exciting for all. The committee planned a week filled with fun activities and events. Your donation was used as a motivation to spark interest and participation by the staff. The success of the activities happened because of your support. We thank you for being a part of this worthy cause.”
- Daniel Joseph, former City Manager, Mission Viejo

“On behalf of the Public Services Department of the City of Fontana, I would like to thank you for your generosity and kindness in donating the Deodar Cedar tree that was planted in front of City Hall. Please be advised that with the planting of this tree, our Christmases in Fontana will be that much more festive and bright. In December the new tree will be decorated along with the existing tree. After the new Deodar has been pruned, shaped, groomed and has grown for several years, we will no longer decorate the old tree and the new Deodar will become our City Christmas Tree and will be lit at our annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremonies. Again, thank you for your kind donation.”
- Ken Jeske, Public Services Director, City of Fontana

“I wish to thank you for your generous Arbor Day contribution to the City of Fresno and our community. Your men were up to the challenge of transplanting four 12 to 15 foot trees, which would have otherwise been lost to highway construction. Now these trees beautifully grace the front of our city’s new Boys and Girls Clubs of Fresno County. Special thanks goes to your Field Operations Manager and Area Manager who devoted much of their time and effort in making this planting a success. The Parks Division, along with Tree Fresno and the Boys and Girls Clubs, thank you and your staff for your contribution to our community.”
- Ronald Primavera, Director of Public Works, City of Fresno

“On behalf of the City of Placentia and Recreation and Human Services Department, we would like to extend our sincere thanks for your generous donation of a cedar pine tree for our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony held on December 14th. Your willingness to take time out of your busy schedule to search “high and low” to find an appropriate tree was greatly appreciated. Thank you again for your gracious contribution to the City of Placentia!”
- Stephen Pischel, Recreation Services Mgr, City of Placentia

“Our Public Works Day would not have been the same without you and your staff. I want to sincerely thank WCA for its participation in our Public Works Day. All the vehicle and informational displays set the tone for this event, showing the public that our City is well taken care of by our faithful public works vendors. Its good to know that we can count on you for a professional and friendly interface with our public. We are most appreciative.”
- Janice Fletcher, Senior Management Analyst, City of Upland

“Once again the partnership of the City of Azusa and West Coast Arborists delivered a TERRIFIC Arbor Day Ceremony. Despite the threat of rain, Arbor Day was celebrated and a tree was planted in recognition of one of Azusa’s living icons Mr. Adolph Solis. Only with WCA’s help could this have been possible. Thank you again for participating in our event and for donating the ceremonial tree. Your gift will be appreciated for many, many years to come."
- Randy Noriega, Director of Park Planning & Development, City of Azusa
